Mumbai, Oct. 22 -- Shilpa Shetty is making news for an unusual reason in the UK these days. There have been some robberies in and around one of Britain's most exclusive estates, which also houses the actor's mansion.
Over the last few days, UK papers have been mentioning Shilpa's name along with reports that St. George's Hill in Surrey, often known as the British 'Beverly Hills', has become the target of a crime wave with thefts at gunpoint taking place.
But Shilpa says everything is fine. "I also read the articles. I was a bit shocked. But it has been misconstrued. They have reported that the robberies have taken place on the estate. And it is huge. Someone else's house was attacked," she says. St. George's Hill is also home to hedge fund managers and financiers besides Chelsea's star footballer, Didier Drogba. "They (papers) are reporting about the entire estate. It's like saying that a robbery takes place in Khandala, but it doesn't mean that since I also have a house in Khandala, my place too will be robbed," she laughs, adding, that her in-laws are still staying there.
"So there's nothing to worry about. Since a lot of celebrities and stars live there, the media referred to my name and Drogba's. But it's all rubbish as far as my home is concerned," says the actor, who reportedly spent a whopping £10 million on the mansion.
