Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra caught together at 5 in the morning!

s something really brewing between Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra? The latter was spotted leaving Sallu’s house on Monday (September 4) morning around 5. Was it an official meeting or was Priyanka just partying with Salman till the wee hours?

As a daily reports, on Sunday night Kabir Khan, the director of Ek Tha Tiger, threw a party at his terrace apartment to celebrate his daughter's birthday and also his film's mega-success. From Katrina Kaif to the film's crew, everyone attended the party except the movie’s hero. It’s said that Salman was busy with his own little private party.

Priyanka Chopra’s shinning bright white S-class Mercedes was seen parked outside Salman Khan's Galaxy Apartments a little before midnight. She finally came out of Sallu's ground-floor apartment but not without him around 4.47 am. Salman even escorted her back to the car.

Salman, who last worked with Priyanka in the 2008 film God Tussi Great Ho, is set to start working on Sajid Nadiadwalla's film Kick, and the hunt is on for a heroine opposite him. Priyanka Chopra, whose Barfi! will release soon, has wrapped up work on Zanjeer - remake and Krrish 3, and has no other film lined up. So she might be the right choice for Kick. Moreover, Salman and Priyanka looked good together in Mujhse Shaadi Karogi and Salaam-e-Ishq

Priyanka also gels wells with Sallu’s dear sister Arpita Khan. Recently there were also reports that Priyanka’s character in Zanjeer-remake was changed at Salman’s behest. This Khan wishes well of Priyanka and the two seem to bond well.

Gauri Khan has no issues with Priyanka Chopra!

Shahrukh Khan’s wife Gauri Khan has called a truce with Priyanka Chopra! The star wife apparently had issues with the actress over her growing proximity with Shahrukh, but according to the recent reports Gauri has resolved the problems with PC.

Is all well at Shahrukh Khan’s household? “Things are solved now. Jo thoda bahot issues Gauri had with PC have been sorted now...,” reveals a source to a daily. Also it’s said that when Shahrukh Khan will be back in Mumbai in mid-July, and will host parties for his folks, Priyanka will be invited to all. Smiles and hugs are on the way, we guess.

However, what exactly was the problem between Gauri and PC is not clear. Insiders too doesn’t want to reveal much; as per a source, there was “some” trouble, but everything is fine now. It can be recalled how things went haywire with Priyanka Chopra when reports of her alleged closeness with Shahrukh Khan started doing the rounds. Later, she was even removed from the good books of the producer Karan Johar, a good friend of Gauri Khan. It was learnt that Karan too was upset with the SRK-Priyanka link-up.

He even admitted to this while giving a recent interview. He said, “Being the older one, I invited her for my birthday party and was touched by her gesture. Without going back to what happened, I would say the relationship is back on track.”

Right now, Gauri Khan is with her husband and kids in London holidaying and having fun.

Priyanka Chopra not yet confirmed for 'Zanjeer' remake

The leading lady for the remake of 1973 film "Zanjeer" is yet to be finalised, says director Apoorva Lakhia, putting rest to rumours that Priyanka Chopra has already been cast. He also says that he is yet to approach Amitabh Bachchan to play a part in the film.

"Priyanka Chopra is not yet confirmed. We have not yet decided on that. However, we are starting the film's shoot from May 13. The scenes of the lead actor will be shot," Lakhia, who will direct the project, told IANS.

The lead hero in the remake will be essayed by southern superstar Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja, who will step into the shoes of Amitabh for the remake.

While rumours are rife that Amitabh Bachchan will be seen in a cameo in the remake, Lakhia says he hasn't approached the megastar yet. However, he will do that soon.

"I have not approached Mr. Bachchan yet. But I will soon approach him. It would be great if he could show his presence in the film," said Lakhia, who has worked with Big B in films like "Shootout At Lokhandwala", "Mumbai Se Aaya Mera Dost" and "Ek Ajnabee".

He considers it is "duty" to approach Big B for the "Zanjeer" remake, but says it is upto the veteran to agree to the project or not. "I would approach him for all obvious reasons. Who does not want to cast Mr. Bachchan in their film," said Lakhia.

The original "Zanjeer", also featured Jaya Bhaduri and Pran in key roles. It played a vital role in shaping Amitabh's career by not just catapulting him to fame, but also by giving him the title of "angry young man" at that time.

The remake of "Zanjeer" is being produced by first-timer Amit Mehra.

It’s Karan Johar versus Priyanka Chopra!

A simmering spat between actress Priyanka Chopra and a clique of powerful star wives has now spilled out in the open with filmmaker Karan Johar taking up the cudgels on behalf of the star wives.

A tabloid report that came out two days back has put a spark to the tinderbox.

To give you a recap, it has long been alleged that two star wives have been using their clout in the industry to plant negative stories about Priyanka Chopra in the media. Though no names were ever revealed, it was all but clear that the star wives being mentioned were Gauri Khan and Sussanne Roshan.

The differences between the Gauri-Sussanne duo on one hand and Priyanka on the other cropped up after a raft of stories on Shahrukh Khan’s closeness to Priyanka started doing the rounds. Thereafter, Priyanka was given the royal snub by the two star wives on many occasions, but a media report earlier this week has brought this simmering war out in the open.

In the report, a friend of Priyanka Chopra was quoted as saying: “If these women (allegedly Gauri and Sussanne) are insecure about their relationships with their husbands, they should sort it out with them, at home. Why target Priyanka?” The friend even took on Karan Johar for being duplicitous, and alleged: “PC is upset and flummoxed by the campaign unleashed by a powerful producer-director who can make and break careers in Bollywood.”

The provocation was enough to have the rarely undiplomatic Karan Johar lose his cool and give it back to Priyanka, and that too on a social networking site.

Refraining from taking any names, Karan seems to have blamed Priyanka Chopra for using her PR machinery to sully the names of Gauri and Sussanne both of who are close to K-Jo.

This is what Karan Johar wrote on twitter: “Using their hired PR machinery and hiding behind so called "friends" to get news into tabloids is nothing but spineless and lame!!! Some people need to wake up and smell the KOFFEE!!! Get a reality check before its too late!!! Grow up!!! and dont mess with goodness....”

Thereafter, Karan Johar has refused to confirm or deny if his jab was aimed at Priyanka Chopra. The actress’s spokesperson too has refused to comment on the matter.

It can be recalled that Priyanka Chopra and Karan Johar once used to be on good terms, especially during the making of Johar’s production Dostana, in which Priyanka played the female lead. But the two now seems to have had a falling-out!

Aamir shows Priyanka top secret sets

Priyanka Chopra and Aamir Khan bonded over tea on the sets of the latter’s closely guarded television show at Yash Raj Films’s studio in Andheri last week. Priyanka was also there working on an ad film.
“When Priyanka heard that Aamir was shooting next door, she requested her director to take a break so that she could go and say hi,” a source at the venue says, adding, “Aamir, who usually keeps his shoots under wraps, welcomed her and allowed her to see the set, the format of the show and some part of the shoot as well.”
Last week, Priyanka was seen networking with Raju Hirani at Mukesh and Nita Ambani’s party to celebrate Sachin Tendulkar’s 100th century. The party was held at the Ambani mansion Antilla in Tardeo. Aamir Khan, Salman Khan, Hrithik Roshan and the Bachchans were also present. About the recent encounter, Priyanka’s spokesperson confirms, “Yes, Aamir and Priyanka met at YRF.”
The two were earlier spotted together at a screening of Peepli Live and rumours stated that they would work together in an adaptation of Alexandre Dumas’s The Three Musketeers. But the reports were not confirmed. While Priyanka has worked with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman and Hrithik, she is yet to work with Aamir Khan.

My first single is ready: Priyanka Chopra

Actor Priyanka Chopra, who is busy working on her debut music album, says that if all goes well, her first single will be out by mid-year.
“Music has always been a passion but I wanted the right opportunity to venture into it. This deal with UMG-Desi Hits! is amazing. We are looking at
dropping a single sometime in the middle of 2012,” says Priyanka, adding, “I was really nervous the first few times I went into the recording booth to sing. But I’m really looking forward to sharing my music with the world.”
The actor, who spent time in Los Angeles writing and recording for the album, is also excited about her upcoming projects — Krrish 3, Kunal Kohli’s next, and Anurag Basu’s Barfii. “I play an autistic character in Barfii. It is one of my most memorable film experiences. People may think it is a very serious film, but it is a funny, sweet film,” says the actor, whose last two films, Don 2 and Agneepath, were blockbusters.
Music and films aside, Priyanka recently beat her contemporaries to win the title of India’s Glam Diva by a TV show. But for her, it is actors Marilyn Monroe and Madhuri Dixit who are the real divas.

Agneepath - Review

Director: Karan Malhotra
Actors: Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra, Katrina Kaif

The ageless, eccentric baldie Kancha Cheena (Sanjay Dutt), modeled loosely on the lines of Marlon Brando (Col. Kurtz) in Apocalypse Now, has a thing for the Bhagwad Gita. The line, "Kya lekar aaye the, aur kya lekar jaoge," referring to the perishable human body that's merely a cloth or uniform for the eternal soul, is Kancha's favourite catch-phrase.
The land he lords over looks equally mythical. The absence of the nation-state is worrying. It's clearly Kancha's Lanka, his private North West Frontier that the police find hard to penetrate, fearing for the lives of the locals and their own. The village is Mandwa, not very far from Mumbai, where lynch mobs rule, and Kancha's writ runs.
We're in the early '90s. There are no cell-phones, though more than a few microphones at press conferences. Growing up within the ranks of Mumbai's notorious underbelly is young Vijay (Hrithik Roshan), son of 'siddhantwadi' (principled) Master Dinanath Chauhan, waiting to avenge his father's humiliation and death. Rauf Lala (Rishi Kapoor; intelligent anti-casting) is his mentor; Priyanka Chopra (in an extended cameo) plays his girlfriend.
The philanthropic father was a Gandhian, and would advice his son, "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind." "Mahatma Gandhi wasn't born in Mandwa," the son would tell him. Little Vijay and his pregnant mother were driven out of their village. Kancha's the Ravan. Vijay must be Ram.
This is the Ramayan in ways that several huge blockbusters have vaguely reinterpreted in the past (Anil Sharma's Gadar, or Prakash Jha's Apaharan, for instance; even the producer of this film Karan Johar's Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham, for that matter). It's simple enough to spot Hindu mythology in so many Hindi film stories. Making it too explicit (Mani Ratnam's Raavan) is unnecessary. The popular philosophy - karm, dharm - easily follows.
Vijay has an unusual sympathiser in the city's police commissioner (Om Puri), since they share a common enemy. In return, Vijay saves the commissioner's life. They're probably even now; if not, Vijay tells the cop, he can clear the debt in his next birth. It's not surprising the makers of this film profess to believe in reincarnation. This picture is an unabashed film buff's product of the same thought. It's a 1990 Mob opera, modified, reborn.
The debutant director (Karan Malhotra) is an equally unapologetic devotee of Bollywood's old-world scale and melodrama that few get right. He does, to a great extent, though almost every scene's an announcement, the jarring background score is always in jaagran (or concert) mode, and the camera is constantly at close-up or mid-shot, which can get exhausting to the eye.
The original Agneepath, inspired by Scarface, was directed by the late Mukul Anand, a filmmaker highly influenced by Hollywood's visual detailing and slickness. He was widely regarded in the '90s as a "tech-wizard" of sorts. Which was fair, given he made films like Khuda Gawah in 1992, set in the rugged terrains of Afghanistan, when the biggest hit pictures playing at theatres near you were Beta and Tehelka (the latter gets a nod here)!
Would this movie have the same impact on the young as did Anand's incredible Hum (1991) for the generation before? No. Would this Agneepath suffice still? Yes. Despite its commercial failure, the original had rightly earned the gravel-voiced Amitabh Bachchan his first National Award since his debut in 1969.
The external logic of a star driven, fantasy fed film such as this may not be easy to gulp for many. The internal logic, or the reason you believe it all, depends a lot on the credibility of the headlining performance. Bachchan's irreplaceable, of course. So is Hrithik, India's hardest working, most intense super-star, ever.
In a career spanning 12 years, there's something to be said about an actor for the number of times he's likely to have heard, from masses or critics, that "this is his best performance yet": Koi Mil Gaya, Lakshya, Krishh, Dhoom 2, Jodha Akbar, Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, Guzaarish. One can safely add this film to the list.
An earnest Vijay Dinanath Chauhan delivers poetic justice before a nearly packed hall on the proverbial 'first day first show'. Audiences at my cinema respond to the cues and lines. The comments passed sometimes distract you from the screen. Everyone guffaws at the same time. This is the kind of genuine theatre experience, now getting rare, which remains most precious in the life of a film-goer. Reason can take over later. I had a ball!

Agneepath becomes biggest first day opener!

Karan Johar's modern version of Agneepath has broken all records to become the biggest opener ever. According to the latest trade reports, the film has garnered Rs 25 crore, beating the opening collections of Salman Khan's Bodyguard (Rs 21.6 cr).
Unlike the 1990 film, which only got critical acclaim and not box-office return, the remake is veering towards the road of success, if trade pundits are to be believed.
"The film, which stars Hrithik Roshan, Sanjay Dutt, Priyanka Chopra and Rishi Kapoor, made Rs. 25 crore (all-India net collection) on its first day at the box-office, January 26, 2012. This is an all-time record," writes trade guru Komal Nahta in his blog koimoi.com.
"As figures are still flowing in, it remains to be seen if Agneepath will break the record for the highest collections in a day, held by Shah Rukh Khan’s Ra.One (Rs. 25.10 crore; for all three versions). In fact, if you consider only the collections of the Hindi version of Ra.One, the record for the highest collections in a day has already been broken by Agneepath," adds Nahta.
The film has also been getting good collections from abroad. "Agneepath opened in parts of Overseas on Thursday. Australia Thu A$ 75,403 on 14 screens. Excellent!" tweeted trade expert Taran Adarsh.
Hrithik, who stepped into the shoes of megastar Amitabh Bachchan as Vijay, is excited that his hard work has paid off.
"WOW!!!! THANK u THANK u THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! Agneepath 1st day - 25cr!!!! My damaged bodyparts suddenly feel ALIVE, I feel like I can FLY now!!! Thank u people, I have the fuel now to make KRRISH EXPLODE!!!!" Hrithik wrote on his Twitter page.
Sanjay Dutt and the film's lead actress Priyanka Chopra, are equally delighted with the positive response, and have thanked fans for the amazing response to the film.
"'Agneepath has redefined the power of Indian box office for all of us. It's heartening to see the strength of the Indian cinema audiences growing like this. We all were very confident of the film but for this kind of success and unprecedented number that it has posted on day one we must thank our audience," said Priyanka.
Sanjay took to Twitter after a year, to share his sentiments about the appreciation towards the movie, and his role as the villain, Kancha Cheena.
"I am overwhelmed with the response and support of everyone. Thank you for loving me so much," he wrote.
"The film has had an excellent opening. The occupancy was around 95 percent. It was the most eagerly awaited and would be one of the biggest blockbuster," said Anant Verma, director and business head, DT Cinemas.
However, he says it would be unfair to compare the new "Agneepath" with the original as they have been given a completely different treatment.
"You can't compare the two films as they are shot differently and have different characters also. There is no connection between the two other than just the name," he added.
Yogesh Raizada of Waves Cinema adds that all the characters have done complete justice to their characters.
"The response to the film has been rocking on first day. We have had 90 percent occupancy. All the actors have done complete justice to their characters whether it is Rishi Kapoor as Rauf Lala, Hrithik as Vijay or Sanjay as Kancha Cheena," said Raizada.
The film, directed by debutant Karan Malhotra, and produced by Karan Johar, is expected to have a successful run at the box office in the coming days.
"Since there is no big movie releasing in the coming weeks, the film will work well," he added.

Trouble in Shah Rukh-Gauri's paradise?

Shah Rukh Khan's link-up with his Don co-star Priyanka Chopra has reportedly not gone too well with wife Gauri. The Chopra girl has apparently accused Gauri Khan's good friend Neelam Kothari for spreading the rumours.
Kothari took to Twitter to clear the air: "Don't know how to react to a certain article that has come out today, claiming that I am responsible for starting certain rumours. I'm shocked and hurt with these allegations!! This is the first time in the whole of my career I have been dragged into a controversy.. Not fair at all!! Gauri and Sharukh happen to be my dear friends and will continue to be so.. Would never say anythin derogatory about them(sic)."
It was also reported that PC and Neelam even had a spat over the issue. However, Neelam denied saying: "As for Priyanka Chopra... No we have never had a fight.. Get your facts right people!!(sic)."
Family man Shah Rukh Khan has stumbled in a link-up controversy for the first time in his career. However, he's keeping mum on the controversy, proving silence is the best answer.
Priyanka and SRK have always openly admitted their fondness for each other. The two share a great rapport and have worked together in Don and its sequel.

Top 10 Indian Songs of 2011

No item numbers, but original peppy compositions was the hallmark of Bollywood music in 2011. The first big hit was 'Darling', in the powerful resonating voice of Usha Uthup in Saath Khoon Maaf, while the loud and boisterous Vishal-Shekhar composition 'Oh la la' in The Dirty Picture gave partygoers something to gyrate on at New Year parties.

Some of the chartbusters brought in a whiff of Spanish and Russian flavour to the music. Overall, youthful songs and fresh compositions ruled the charts. A list of 10 most happening songs of 2011...

'Darling'
In the very beginning, Bollywood was introduced to this addictive number from Saath Khoon Maaf. The stretched usage of word "darling" in the powerful voice of Usha Uthup coupled with Rekha Bharadwaj's mischievous tone did the trick for the Vishal Bharadwaj composition. The Russian flavour infused in the song managed to captivate listeners.

'Sadi galli'
Lehmber Hussainpuri's original composition was restricted only to the heartlands of Punjab till composer Krsna discovered it and decided to use the folk number in the film Tanu Weds Manu. The already popular foot-tapping song caught the pulse of the listeners, thanks to its Punjabi lyrics and entertaining beats.

'Chaar baj gaye party abhi baaki hai'
The movie F.A.L.T.U sank without a trace at the box-office, but the only saviour was the energetic party number 'Char baj gaye' by singer Hard Kaur. A Sachin-Jigar composition became so popular that it became a must for discotheques and marriages.

'Dhinka chika'
It wasn't the signature dance step picturized on Salman Khan with his hands in his pockets that made the Ready song a rage. Full on energy, complimented by Mika Singh and Amrita Kak's voice, the infectious composition by guest composer Devi Shri Prasad, who included sound of whistles and dhols, forced everyone to shake a leg.

'Bhaag DK Bose'
The double meaning song from Delhi Belly had become a national anthem of sorts. Composed and sung by Ram Sampath, the quirky, interesting and upbeat number became an instant hit with listeners. A brave move by the producers and smart execution by Sampath as the lyrics projected the lingo of today's youth.

'Senorita'The idea of using voices of actors Abhay Deol, Hrithik Roshan and Farhan Akhtar in the fun-loving song from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara worked in favour of the film. Composed by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, the number with Spanish flavour brought in the element of happiness with its happy-go-lucky beats.

'Teri Meri'
A poignant love song, it was definitely not Himesh Reshammiya's best composition, but the number stood out in the average music album of Bodyguard. High on Sufi touch, backed by the soulful voices of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shreya Ghoshal, it was the only romantic number that made it to the top 10 charts this year.

'Chammak Challo'
If the Shah Rukh Khan starrer mega-budget film RA.One was the most awaited movie of the year, then the song too created a buzz much before its release. The song, which marks Bollywoood's first musical collaboration with international singer Akon, had Hinglish lyrics and a repeat value.

'Sadda Haq'
Music maestro AR Rahman might be selective about choosing his projects, but whenever he does, one expects nothing less than a musical treat. For Rockstar, the composer scored soulful numbers but this power-punched number, sung by Mohit Chauhan, was an instant success.

'Ooh la la'
Sometimes good things are saved for the last. And it happened when the bling king Bappi Lahiri along with Shreya Ghosal went back into the 1970's era and replicated the magic of nonsensical lyrics, loud beats and peppy song. And it all came together with the song 'Ooh la la'.

Don 2 - Review

Don 2
Director: Farhan Akhtar
Actors: Shah Rukh Khan, Priyanka Chopra
The vice president of the Deutsche central bank, Germany’s equivalent of the Reserve Bank of India, is a gentleman called Diwan (Aly Khan). He is Indian too? Don’s moll exclaims to her boss. “Kya karein sweetheart,” sighs Don, we're everywhere!
Thank god for that. This gives Bollywood’s big-budget filmmakers an excuse to set their films across the world, knowing there will always be one desi among that many goras in every profession the hero can conduct his business with in Hindi. Language rarely suffers. Characters manage to swiftly infiltrate rank and file of the police, besides other offices, secure in the knowledge that no one will ever find out: one out of six or so in the world is an Indian, isn’t it? It is!
In snapshots so far, we’ve travelled with Don around Thailand, Malaysia, Switzerland. The views remain stunning, throughout. Though you might want to see beyond. This is a film after all. Not an apartment on sale. Don is, we’re told, Asia’s biggest underworld king and drug lord, in Berlin now, to steal currency plates of the Euro from the German central bank. Poof.
I’m not certain why you’ll wish him the best. You understand missions to save our world. This is a goner, loner don looking to score a big buck for himself. Scripts such as these usually drop nuggets and back-stories later for audience’s empathy. This doesn’t. Here’s what we know, besides that Don always speaks of himself in third person, can morph his voice and face into Hrithik Roshan’s.
Don
He loves the comic series Tom And Jerry (we saw this in the first part as well). He has seen Godfather. Surrendering himself to the Interpol, he asks top sleuths (Om Puri, Priyanka Chopra) to make him an offer he can't refuse. Yet, his name bears no link to his profession whatsoever.
Dons are often backed by charm and an astonishing empire of loyalists, network of funds, henchmen, consigliere to see them through. The original Don did. The one in this sequel has given himself up to cops so he can enter jail, find his arch-enemy Vardhan (Boman Irani: in a permanent state of scowl), get to a video clip to blackmail Deutsche Bank’s desi Diwan with. Enough backup dancers celebrate Don’s return with the title track that could be a version of Shankar Ehsaan Loy’s brilliant Aaj Ki Raat.
Still, the only person working for him, besides Vardhan, a computer hacker he’s just met (Kunal Kapoor), the moll who’s a mystery (Lara Dutta), is a hit man, who’d been paid to bump him off. He does intend to share his wealth with the few who stick by him and his whims. That’s our vague deduction of his modus operandi. By the way, this is also how a lot of second-rate, star-driven films get made in Mumbai!
Now that we know Don’s essentially a goofy, demented one-man army of sorts, who could be shot off any second, given that many guns and enemies around, let’s quickly get to slick frames, cold colour tones, and rapid action over a hollow heist and hostage drama. Cars blowing up in mid-street are of course formula fare by this genre’s global standards.

Many, like me, would have clutched tightly to their arm-rests watching the hero dive down Dubai’s Al Burj in the glass-break sequence in Mission Impossible 4 that released two weeks ago. Most things next to it, outside of some huge budget American blockbusters, will seem desperately derivative, wannabe-Hollywood ho-hum. Despite the efforts, this one does. But that was a given. Coolness isn't tight tees and a Tag Heuer ad.
Comparisons are still inevitable. MI:4 starred America’s Shah Rukh Khan and, among others, Anil Kapoor, a Hollywood extra. This one stars India's Tom Cruise. Both Khan and Cruise, leading men, in their late 40s, you can tell, are at similar phases in their careers. Both have had their share of women fans devoted to romantic weepies. They seek core audiences among kids and younger adults, with stunts that may or may not make sense. Merrily going with the flow, suspended in disbelief, is the only way to access a film like MI:4, or Don 2. You do. Or you don't. The latter may be the case here for a good reason.
It wasn’t hard to tell where Farhan Akhtar’s 2006 remake of Chandra Banot's Don (1978) was coming from. The director, among India’s most talented, could interpret an old, clever story on a contemporary visual scale: Common man Vijay, who’s a Mafioso look-alike, gets planted into a dead don’s den. He’s stuck now. The cop who put him there is also dead!
It was Vijay’s story. Salim-Javed’s tight script had a striking plot. The writers here have sub-plots. They continue to stretch and add thought to thought. The picture promises to never end. It gets hard to carry on with inane inventiveness, when you just couldn't care less.
At some point it becomes essential to wonder, as the adorable Vijay might, from the original: "Ee Down Sahab hain con? (Who is this Don?).” Truly. So much for a franchise.
