Post Agneepath success, Hrithik set for next challenge!

Hrithik Roshan has tasted big success after a long time with Agneepath and the Bollywood heartthrob says the overwhelming response to the movie has motivated him and he is geared up to take up more challenges now.
Directed by Karan Malhotra, Agneepath is the remake of Amitabh Bachchan-starrer 1990 film of the same name, which was not a commercial success. But producer Karan Johar's decision to give it a makeover is paying him rich dividends -- the film's opening day collection was Rs 23 crore.
Excerpts from an interview:
Agneepath has taken a historic opening....
History used to be my worst subject in school and it's suddenly become my favourite now that Agneepath has created it!
You visited different theatres....
Yes, I visited theatres and kind of re-lived the Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai sensation once again, only this time I was able to absorb it better. I went to Chandan, PVR and of course Gaiety. The reactions were deafening and soothing at the same time.
Agneepath is the first hit of 2012. Comment.
It's weird because until the release of the film, I really didn't fathom what we were up against! I really didn't realise the extent of the risk we had taken and what we would stand to lose if it had not worked? Incredibly, that fear was non-existent through the making of the film for both Karan Malhotra and myself.
In retrospect, now we agree that it was because of the script, which had totally engulfed us as artistes leaving no room for any other emotion to fester. We gave it our heart. So somewhere it makes complete sense that this Agneepath has its own individual identity and stands apart from the earlier classic. I am completely overwhelmed, relieved, thankful for the kind of appreciation it's getting.
Were you nervous on release day?
Yes, extremely nervous and empty. Playing Vijay Dinanath Chauhan somewhere depleted me I guess. I needed something to fill me up again before I started Krrish 2. I was afraid that if I didn't get that pat on the back, my next journey would become extremely tough and burdened. Anyways all that is history now, I'm all fuelled up and ready for the biggest challenge yet again.
The best compliment you got?
The spontaneous hug from my dad in the middle of a conversation. The tears of joy in my mom's eyes, Sussanne reminding me in her broken voice of the faith she had in me - my proud, proud sister and grandparents.
I still feel like a newcomer and every time the people who I look up to from the industry have a nice thing to say about me, it fills my heart with joy. It feels good to belong to a world where we can give and receive love without agenda or ego. Also it becomes my biggest source of motivation

Sanju to produce film for Salman!

Actor Sanjay Dutt is planning to produce a film starring buddy and Bigg Boss 5 co-host, actor Salman Khan.
"Me and Salman have been buddies for most of our lives, but have had few opportunities to work together. So I think its about time I produce a film with my bhai in the lead. I'm looking for a subject and script that goes with his personality. It could be a comedy or a romantic film or even a commercial potboiler," says Sanjay.
"I don't know if I'd work on that project as an actor. Once I finalise a project and he approves of it, I'll let him take a call on the music, leading lady and the director." adds the 52-year old actor. Meanwhile, Dutt who has bought the rights of Telegu film Badri, is waiting to hear from another friend, actor Ajay Devgn.
"I was extremely disappointed that Rascals didn't work. I found the concept of Badri interesting and something that went well with Ajay's body of work. So, I've sent him the film's DVD," says Sanjay.
He goes on to add that he hopes Ajay likes the idea. "If he does, he can take a call on who should direct the movie and the other details," he says.

Genelia, Kareena hunt for wedding attire!

It’s shaadi time in Bollywood. While actors Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza are set for their big moment on Friday, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor too, have started shopping for their likely March wedding.
Riteish and Genelia’s wedding celebrations kick off on Tuesday with a sangeet at hotel Taj Lands End, Mumbai, for which Genelia will don an outfit by designer Manish Malhotra. The wedding card circulated among their friends mentions the reception of baraat on Friday at 11am, the wedding rituals at 12.45pm, and the reception at the same venue, at 7.30pm the next day.
Riteish will wear a Troy Costa outfit, while Genelia is expected to wear an indigo gold lehenga by Delhi designer Ritu Kumar (see sketch). “It has a velvet top with embroidery and zardozi work,” says Kumar. However, both she and Genelia stay tightlipped on whether the actor will wear the outfit on the big day or at one of the other functions.
Sources close to the actor say she may also wear a Maharashtrian sari for a part of the ceremony, while for her mehendi, the actor will wear a gold and black anarkali suit.
Meanwhile, actor Kareena Kapoor has reportedly ordered a multi-layered waist-length necklace from a Rajkot-based jewellery store for her wedding. When contacted, Pradip Kansara of Kruti jewellers, confirmed that Saif and Kareena are buying jewellery but refused to divulge further details. The gold necklace will cost around Rs 40 lakh and will be studded with diamonds and rare gemstones.
‘Marriage is a banned word in my family’
While Kareena Kapoor may have started her wedding preparations in full swing, sister-in-law-to-be, Soha Ali Khan says marriage is a banned word in her household for now. Soha says not only her marriage with beau and actor Kunal Kemmu, but even the wedding dates of brother Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor are yet to be decided.
Soha, 33, who will be seen on the UTV Stars’ show, Superstar Santa, along with Kunal, says: “All talks of the wedding will happen post Agent Vinod’s release. Marriage is a banned word till then in our house.”
About her love life, Soha says, “Kunal and I haven’t decided about our wedding. But when we plan to get married, we’ll talk about it.”
Kunal, 28, says, “Soha and I are in a great phase of our relationship. Whenever marriage has to happen it will.”

Kareena looks good only with me: Saif

Saif Ali Khan didn't mince words when asked which of Bollywood's many Khans does his girlfriend, actress Kareena Kapoor look best with. Apart from Saif, Kareena has so far worked with Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and will soon be seen with young Imran Khan in Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu. After working with Saif in Tashan and Kurbaan, she will be seen with him again in the upcoming Agent Vinod, set for release March 23.
"Kareena looks good with me and there is no comparison! Apart from me, I don't see anybody (with whom she looks good)," Saif told reporters here on the sidelines of the first poster launch of his production Agent Vinod.
Kareena, the leading lady of the spy thriller, was missing from the event Wednesday.
Saif explained: "We had to divide to conquer... she will be seen in future promotional activities for the film."
The first poster of the movie features only Saif in it. However, he promises that unlike other action films, the actress has a justified role in his film too. "Kareena has a very strong role in the film. She has done justice to the role and the role has also done justice to her," Saif said.
The shooting of Agent Vinod, directed by Sriram Raghavan, took a while. And Saif denies rumours that the delay ensued due to budget hassles. "The film taking time to complete are the reports given by media. There were lots of rumours that the film is getting delayed, it's getting over the budget... everything was just a rumour. Films take time," he said.
He guarantees that the wait will be worth it, as he said: "The kind of action and locations that we have chosen, I have not seen in much movies. The film must have taken a longer time, but it does not matter as long as the product is interesting."
The film is said to have dollops of action, but Kareena wasn't too comfortable with it. "She doesn't like doing action, but she is very good at it. She gives pretty intense expressions. As far as I am concerned, I thought it (action) would be fun, but it was very frightening. It's not easy," said Saif.
Besides the unique action sequences, Agent Vinod will also have a "different" item song, a mujra picturised on Kareena. "We thought let's go a different way and try something different in terms of expression. I believe even Dinesh Vijan was pushing for a mujra... we needed to make our item a little bit different," said Saif.

I am unemployed: Shahid Kapoor

While most actors have chock-a-block shooting schedules in 2012, Shahid Kapoor has no qualms in admitting that he has no work on hand as of now. The actor recently wrapped up shooting for Kunal Kohli's tentatively titled Teri Meri Kahaani, in which he features with Priyanka Chopra. But
after that, he is still waiting to lock something.
"I don't like to comment on any of my films till the producers make an official announcement. All I can say is I don't have any films right now. So right now I am unemployed," Shahid told reporters at an event organised here Monday by electronics company Pioneer India.
However, his fans don't need to be disappointed, as he said "In the second half of the year I have many films."
Will his unemployed status come in the way of his plans of settling down?
"I am available. It takes a certain amount of time to establish yourself. It's better if your partner is with you to share your journey in life," commented the actor, whose father's directorial Mausam failed to mint moolah at the box office.
Meanwhile, talking about working with his rumoured ex-girlfriend Priyanka, he hints that the duo will recreate their Kaminey chemistry in Kohli's project.
"It's premature to talk about the film. It's a film which is shot over three different time periodS. It's a romantic comedy. Priyanka is a fun co-star and we share a good chemistry," he said.
Shahid wrapped up shooting on the project January 8. It is scheduled to release June 22.

Sonam Kapoor on western influence!

While the Indian youth faces criticism for aping the west, young actor Sonam Kapoor says she finds nothing wrong with it as good values are "universal."
"Values are usually universal...good values are universal. The west in not a devil coming to change our minds about certain things. Yes, we have amazing values in India which we should be very proud of. But I think it's fine to get influenced by the world because the world is getting smaller in a lot of ways," the 26-year-old actress said here at a youth fest.
Sonam, considered to be a style icon for the youths, feels India has a great future because of the young population in the country.
"India is predominantly a youthful nation. When you are younger, you are more idealistic and you want to strive for a better future for ourselves. I think we have an amazing future because we are such a young nation," she said..
Sonam's last release was Players. She is currently working on Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, in which she will be seen with Farhan Akhtar.

Sonakshi: Bengal bound!

The next page of my mother's famous diary is about Sonakshi Sinha. Mummyji has been tracking the 'Junior Khamosh' ever since she took up Lootera with Ranveer Singh.
On last check, she discovered that Sona was heading to Kolkata to shoot a couple of scenes and probably one or two songs for the film.
The producers and director felt that they needed some authentic Bengali outdoors for the movie and so, headed straight to West Bengal. I just wish yahan pe she doesn't face any difficulties. The last time she went somewhere near Dalhousie, she got stuck for two days in snow. Bechari!

Bollywood takes sick leave!

The Bollywood junta seems to have gotten under the weather, as several actors including several actors including Bipasha Basu, Ameesha Patel and Tusshar Kapoor have called in sick from work.
The actors recently took to microblogging site Twitter to talk about feeling unwell. While Bipasha, 33, is down with contracted conjunctivitis, Tusshar and Ameesha are suffering from food poisoning. Bips has been tweeting constantly, not just about her illness but also her concern for the team of her forthcoming film, Jodi Breakers, who are desperately waiting for her to get back on the set.
When contacted, Bips said, "It is a viral s infection that is all over of Mumbai right now. I am doing well ... will start worka ing in a day or so hopefully, as " soon as I get an approval rom my doctor." Ameesha, too, tweeted bout falling sick on Monday. Fell ill last nite with bad bout of food poisoning (sic)," the 36-year-old actor posted. Tusshar, 35, who also suffered food poisoning, says he is on the road to recovery.
"I guess I ate something outside that did not suit me. I am resuming work today," says the actor, who is thrilled about good friends Ritesh Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza's wedding on February 4, and wants to get well soon to attend the functions. "I am kicked about attending all their functions," says Kapoor.
