Jab Tak Hai Jaan Breaks All Pakistani Records

Yash Chopra’s last directorial venture ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ has made a larger than live arrival at the Pakistani cinemas, with a blockbuster opening netting in Rs 4 million in ticket sales on the first day alone.

The film opened in Pakistani cinemas on November 16, breaking all previous records with 9,000 seats booked in advance.

The film is being distributed in Pakistan by IMGC Global. The IMGC Global chairman, who also was a very close friend of late legendary filmmaker Yash Chopra, held a premiere of ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ at the Atrium, Karachi on November 15. The special screening was arranged to pay tribute to Yash Chopra and to celebrate his last directorial offering. A large number of celebrities attended the premiere and shared their thoughts about Yash Chopra. It is not only in Pakistan that ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ endorsed a great opening; the movie has made record breaking openings all over the world. Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh has termed it as the “best Diwali for Bollywood”, with huge openings through out the US, Europe and Australia.

Film critics have termed ‘Jab Tak Hai Jaan’ as one of Yash Chopra’s finest romantic creations, which will keep the King of Romance alive in the hearts of viewers for a long time to come.

Birthday bumps: Gorgeous Anushka Sharma turns 24

BIRTHDAY GIRL!

Today is the birthday of Anushka Sharma, the girl who’s paved her way to stardom by dint of her talent and vivacity. What is her birthday plan for the day?

All thanks to her talent and natural performances in the films, the actress is working non-stop since the last few months, but managed to take a day off for her birthday celebrations.

Anushka Sharma will spend her day with family and close friends. She recently bought a new home and it could well be a dual celebration for her: a housewarming party combined with her birthday bash. Her parents who are based in Bangalore are also with Anushka for her big day.

The actress who turns 24 today is currently working in Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola. She is also shooting for Yashraj Films’ next starring Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, and is even creating ripples on small screen. She is everywhere nowadays with her new TV ad for Canon cameras; Anushka was recently named the band ambassador for Canon, and in the ad she looks simply fabulous - a bindaas babe. Surprisingly, her mentor Aditya Chopra once told her that her USP is not beauty, but the fact that she can act well.

No matter what, Anushka Sharma stands out from the crop of other new generation actresses because of her talent, vivacious persona, and of course beauty; her fans would agree to it. Here’s featuring some of her most stunning

Shahrukh Khan and Anushka Sharma in Farah Khan’s next

In Bollywood, one moment you are friends and the other moment you are foes; and the very next moment you are friends again! After Shahrukh Khan and Shirish Kunder made peace over the slapgate incident that happened between them, Farah Khan approached Shahrukh Khan and cast him as the lead for her upcoming movie!

The big question that remained unanswered was who’ll play the female lead opposite Shahrukh Khan? And the latest chirp suggests that it is none other than Anushka Sharma! Farah Khan first thought of casting Kareena Kapoor orKatrina Kaif for this role, however, at last, Anushka Sharma was finalized!

Well, this does not come as a surprise, to be fair! Anushka Sharma has worked with SRK in the past in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and the two bonded well! Plus, Farah Khan too loved Anushka’s dance moves in the film; and there’s nothing more a choreographer-cum-director would ask for!

Anushka Sharma is really happy to have bagged this role and is making sure she manages her dates properly, considering the fact that she also has to shoot for Rajkumar Hirani’s next Peekay, which stars Aamir Khan!

In the meantime, we wonder what Farah will name her movie. Rab Ne Fir Bana Di Jodi, maybe?

Ranbir Kapoor to be pair with Anushka Sharma

If things go as planned, Ranbir Kapoor will be seen playing the lead in Anurag Kashyap’s film Bombay Velvet.

Anurag Kashyap has given up waiting for Aamir Khan to give the nod for his film Bombay Velvet, which revisits the city of Mumbai and its ethos in the era of 1960s. The film’s leading man is required to play a mainstream superstar. With Aamir not showing any interest in the project, Kashyap is reported to have decided to rope in Ranbir Kapoor for the role.

And the interesting bit is that Anushka Sharma will play Ranbir’s leading lady in the movie. This would be the first film together for both Ranbir and Anushka.

Ranbir, whose career has peaked with a slew of Best Actor awards for his performance in Rockstar, will next be seen playing a deaf and mute character in director Anurag Basu’s film Barfee. After that he’s got a film with Deepika Padukone in the pipeline.

Anushka Sharma, on the other hand, has been busy with Vishal Bhardwaj’s film Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola and will also be seen in Yash Chopra’s next starring Shahrukh Khan and Katrina Kaif.

Though there has been no confirmation yet as to whether Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma have given their nod to Anurag Kashyap’s Bombay Velvet, but seeing the two talented actors together in a period film would be no less than a treat for the movie buffs.

Anushka Sharma: To sir, with love!

Anushka Sharma has become this fierce body and image guard for her mentor Aditya Chopra, says Nautanki Naari from Lokhandwala.
She met the girl a couple of days ago and ended up asking her how she manages to get her way around in YRF where even heroines like Katrina Kaif have to bow down to their conditions.
She defended her mentor and said he never sides with anyone, is soft spoken and always sides with the correct things. I'm not surprised at the comment... After five films, she has got some right to say so, no? After all, such is life dearies!

Anushka Sharma: 'I am single'

Anushka Sharma has had enough of linkups. The 23-year-old actor dismiss rumours that Ladies V/S Ricky Bahl is a sequel to Band Baaja Baraat, and that her co-star Ranveer and her on-screen chemistry spilled over into real life too, but has now fizzled out.
When the comic caper was being filmed in Goa, the lead pair was reported to have moved into a hotel suite together. Soon after, Anushka was spotted wearing an 'engagement ring'. But lately, Ranveer has apparently been seen walking around hand-in-hand with Sonakshi Sinha and has been quoted saying he never dated Anushka.
"Ranveer is not and never was my boyfriend. It was the media that said we were seeing each other, and then that we were not. We didn't. I'm single and not in a relationship. In fact, I've never even been on a proper date with anyone; if by date you mean getting dressed up and being driven in a swishy car to a fancy dinner," fumes the actor.
So, are all these stories just publicity gimmicks for their soon-to-release film? "Neither of us would stoop to the level of cooking up controversies to sell our film," she snaps. Anushka is equally angry over reports of her trying to woo Ranbir Kapoor to snag the lead in Ayan Mukherjee's next, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani, before Deepika Padukone was cast.
"I'm not from the industry and I don't have a godfather making calls for me, but I still wouldn't cuddle up to a director or hang out with an actor to bag a film. I hang out with Ranbir and Ayan because I know them socially and not for any professional gains," she asserts. She also reasons that if a director is pressurised into casting someone he's not convinced about, it can become a hurdle: "It took Parmeet Sethi a while to realise that I wasn't Tani from Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and I could handle Bulbul from Badmaash Company (2010)," Anushka points out. "My career is going well, I don't have to get desperate!"
