Censor Board applauds Ekta!

Ekta Kapoor's The Dirty Picture, although ended up 'A' certificate from the Central Board Of Film Certification, has managed to please the members of the board, including the female panelists. A screening for the members was held at the preview theatre at Eros Cinema for which two lady examiners and three gentlemen turned up.
The producer, director Milan Luthria and writer Rajat Arora walked in after the screening to check out the reactions. Ekta was unanimously applauded for her film that smoothly balances entertainment with a sensitive presentation of the female protagonist. Ekta was pleased.
Her company's Ekta Kapoor CEO, Tanuj Garg, who was also present at the screening, says, "The censor committee was extremely appreciative. The female examiners found it entertaining and felt that the film sent out the right messages."
The Dirty Picture it seems has been passed without cuts except a couple of cosmetic changes like the blurring of an alcohol brand name and replacing a word in a certain dialogue. A few days ago, south siren Silk Smitha's brother Naga Vara Prasad had filed a writ petition in the High Court of the state of Andhra Pradesh, alleging character assassination of his sister in the movie.
The court directed the CBFC to state within a week its stand on the petition. "The Censor Board is our final certification authority. And if any one says anything against it, it amounts to devaluing the power of the board," Tanuj points out, adding that the board has sent its reply to the court.
