Censor okays Sonam's middle finger gesture

Tinsel town beauty Sonam Kapoor is again in news, though this time not for her comments, but for her perfectly manicured middle finger.
Yes, the Saawariya girl is in news for showing her middle finger while driving her car in the trailer of Abbas-Mustan's much talked about forthcoming film Players.
Above all, the biggest surprise is that the censor board, which cuts or blurrs lewd gestures, words and even flags of certain countries, didn't find anything wrong in that gesture and passed it.
About Players

Rockstar is soul stirring: Anurag Kashyap

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is all praise for Ranbir Kapoor starer Rockstar, calling it a "soul stirring" film. Kashyap also said it is director Imtiaz Ali's best work till date. Ali has previously given hits like Jab We Met and Love Aj Kal.
"Rockstar is not so much about rock as it is an individuals story...its another kind of coming of age film..just can't get it out of my head. It is easily Imtiaz Ali's best. This is how a love story should be told. Soul stirring. Still assimilating," Kashyap wrote on his Twitter page.
The movie also stars newcomer Nargis Fakhri and follows the story of a small town boy who dreams of becoming a big rockstar.
"It is unlike most films.. no cacophony of sounds..quiet.. no unnecessary background to propel it forward..Ranbir is just awesome. Such an unexpected film.. does not take any easy route.. does not become a clap trap or a crowd pleaser..It's just so heartfelt," Kashyap added.

Won't be seen with Bipasha in Race 2: John Abraham

John Abraham, who has never crossed paths with his ex-flame and actor Bipasha Basu after they broke up in February this year, is coincidentally working with her in Abbas-Mastan’s second instalment of Race.
But the model-turned-actor rubbishes all speculations that he will share space with her in the film. “I don’t have any scene with her. It’s untrue,” says John, who is among the fresh entrants to the cast of the sequel.
Unlike the original, Race 2 features actress Deepika Padukone, Ameesha Patel and Jacqueline Fernandez along with Bipasha and Saif Ali Khan from the original cast.
John is excited to be part of this franchise, and says, “I am sure it’s going to be more exciting than the original.” In this ensemble cast, John-BipsJohn might escape seeing eye-to-eye with Bipasha, as she is paired opposite actor Saif Ali Khan in the film, but he might still have a chance to work with her if he signs the sequel of his debut film Jism (2008), directed by Amit Saxena.
Incidentally, rumours go that after the success of Murder 2, actor Emraan Hashmi is also a strong contender for the lead role in Jism 2. John doesn’t rule out the possibility of returning in the sequel.
“To be fair and honest, Bhatt saab is responsible for my career in this industry and he has spoken to about Jism 2. But there is no confirmation, and neither do I know anything about the script,” says John adding, “But we both are interesting in working together again.”

Ali Punjani.
Kim SharmaKim now divides her time in three cities - Mombasa in Kenya, Dubai and Mumbai - and sees no reason to cling to a non-existent Bollywood career.
"So it's farewell to Bollywood. My message to Bollywood, see you later, Beautiful," said the actress who is paired with singer Mika in Loot -- in not a major or noticeable role.

RA.One collections drop, distributors lose

After an extended Eid weekend, the collections for SRK's RA.One have dropped drastically.
"Last Monday onwards, the numbers of the SRK-starrer have been falling like a landslide. This weekend saw it collect Rs 7 odd crore, but it's not good enough to put the film into big league," trade expert Amod Mehra told IBNLive.com.
A distributor based in Central India told the website, "In Central India, Bodyguard collected Rs 4.30 crore in nine days, while RA.One garnered only Rs 3 crore. So how will it recover the cost for the distributor?"
Trade analyst Komal Nahta concurs with Mehra. He writes in koimoi.com: "Now that it is established that RA.One cannot touch the business of Bodyguard in India and that it will fetch more revenues than the Salman Khan starrer in the overseas circuit, the question being asked is: Is RA.One a hit or a flop? The answer is, it is neither a hit nor a flop. On an investment of Rs 135 crore of Eros International, the corporate house will stand to make a profit of Rs 25-30 crore which means a return of 20% on investment."
Nahta told IBNLive.com: "Though the children liked it, elders didn't."
While Shah Rukh Khan and Eros will make money, RA.One is not a hit as some distributors lost money. Their grievances will have to be compensated," he said, pointing out that Eros will have to make adjustments with their forthcoming Rockstar (November 11) and Desi Boyz (November 25).
Movie expert Taran Adarsh however says the movie is a success but not a big grosser. He says, "Well, the money spent on the film has been recovered thanks to the revenue generated from theatrical and non-theatrical avenues, which makes RA.One a success. But those expecting the film to be the next big grosser after 3 Idiots are sure to be disappointed. It's not close to Bodyguard [Rs 150 cr + nett] or Dabangg [Rs 145 cr nett]. Now let's see if the Hindi version of RA.One manages to touch/cross Ready [Rs 123 cr nett]."
