Fawad Khan Said: Team Work Gives Success

Starting off his career in music with Entity Paradigm (EP) and then starring in the award-winning film Khuda Kay Liye, actor-singer Fawad Khan has managed to steal many hearts. Realising that his passion for acting burns more than his love for music, Fawad has steered the wheel away from the mic and moved onto the screen. He has since been acting in various TV shows most famously “Humsafar” — a show watched and loved by the whole nation. On the sets of Hum Network, Fawad talked about his career and future plans.

“It’s been really nice,” he said, referring to his rise to stardom and the journey he has made so far in the entertainment industry. “‘Humsafar’ was the next step for me in my career and the response I received from the audience was simply overwhelming.”

When asked whether his new TV show “Zindagi Gulzar Hai”, which airs this week, would be as captivating as “Humsafar” once was, he said: “I certainly didn’t expect that ‘Humsafar’ would receive such a great response. I don’t think that I am that great an actor in isolation but when I work with a team, my co-stars and other people around me help bring out the best in me.”

Fawad believes that the content of a script is important, but having the right team which understands an actor is as significant, if not more. “It’s never been a habit for me to pick up more than I can do in a given period of time. However, I feel that more than anything, your sanity comes first and so the team you will be working with is very important — I believe my team makes me.”

The storyline or script of the TV show is important to him as well, “I do look at the content because the storyline is a big thing, too. But I still feel a team plays a more significant role — your wavelengths [work ethic] don’t always match with your co-stars. So this definitely counts for me.”

“I have worked with a couple of directors and each has played his or her part in bringing out the best in me,” he said. “I have been blessed to have worked with Sultana Apa [Sultana Siddiqui, the director of ‘ZInagi Gulzar Hai’]. I know there is a balance a director has to maintain when it comes to fulfilling his or her purpose — either you become a dictator and tell the actor exactly what he needs to do or go to the other extreme which is throwing the character on to him to let him figure out what needs to be done.”

He believes Siddiqui knows how to balance the two and this is why it’s been such a rewarding experience for him and an achievement for her.

About his future plans in music, he said: “We [EP] have been disbanded for a while now and it’s been difficult to coordinate amongst ourselves. But yes, if something comes up and I have to sing, then I will.” Commenting on whether he’s aiming to act in films as well, he said, “If something really creative comes my way in the near future and if it’s something different and not conventional, then I might do it.”

Silk By Fawad Khan Latest Eid Collection 2012 For Men & Women

“Humsafar’s” Fawad Khan is out to explore new avenues of creativity.
.

Fawad Khan was first a musician, then an actor and with the launch of his new clothing line, he is now an entrepreneur. SILK by Fawad Khan is a premium casual and semi-formal ready-to-wear clothing brand for women created in design collaboration with his wife, Sadaf Khan.
As the name suggests, the designs are based solely on the purest of silks, aiming to aesthetically capture elegance and simplicity. The brand has been designed keeping in mind the modern woman who believes in luxury fashion. “SILK was born when Sadaf and I decided to collaborate to make our vision – for women to dress in simple, clean-cut styles in crisp fabric – a reality,” says Fawad.
Additionally, he also adds, “SILK has been aimed at catering to customers who want to break away from the present lawn frenzy in the market. Lawn is now slowly making its way to formal occasions such as Eid! As a fabric, silk is an obvious choice when it comes to a premium look and feel and this graceful fabric is much underserved. There is much that can be done in this area in the fashion industry at present, and we hope to set the wheels rolling.”
The debut collection will feature a fusion of Eastern and Western styles designed around the concepts of colour and print-blocking. A bright colour palette will highlight the rich shine and softness of the fabric. The collection will also feature diverse silhouettes ranging from sleek and simplified cuts to the more voluminous.Elaborating on the launch, Sadaf Khan adds, “For our debut collection, while most designs are based simply on their colour and print appeal, we have also designed some with a more semi-formal flavour adorned with traditional and modern embellishments in celebration of the upcoming Eid festivities. We hope this collection serves as a positive teaser for our brand which we will be launching nationwide, soon.”The brand will be launched through a two-day exhibition on August 4 and 5 at the PFDC in Mall One, Lahore.

Five Reasons of Humsafar’s Success

Drama Serial Humsafar has seen an unprecedented success for Hum TV in recent years and is now being considered as one of Best Pakistani Drama Serial. Since past few years, television audiences have forgotten what it was like to be glued to a TV set when the show is on air and to wait for the day to come when the show will be broadcast. It does not take much time to realize what has made the drama series so popular. The paramount reason is simple and that it is a complete cast and crew of drama, where everyone has done their part of the work really well. Already people are fans of the story as it is based on Farhat Ishtiaq’s novel of the same name.

Humsafar’s Drama Cast:

A lot of them are seeing their imagination come to life through this drama series by having to see their favourite characters from the novel portrayed effectively on screen by:

Mahira Khan as Khirad Ihsan
Fawad Afzal Khan as Ashar Hussain
Naveen Waqar as Sara Ajmal
Sara Kashif as Hareem Hussain
Atiqa Odho as Farida Hussain
Behroze Sabzwari as Baseerat Hussain
Hina Khawaja Bayat as Zareena Ajmal
Noor Hasan as Khizar Alam
Qaiser Naqvi as Batool Bano

Five Reasons of Humsafar’s Success
Seeing the recent success and getting so many viewers attracted while it is on, the question does arise what makes it enjoy such a success. Not only has the drama received many views on YouTube, but it is also being repeat telecasted from the first episode due to such high demand. Here are the five reasons which make it so popular:

1. A strong woman standing for her own defence

Firstly, it is great to see a woman standing on her own in defence of her honor, dignity and self-respect. Domestic issues such as a mother-in-law being extremely jealous of her daughter-in-law are relatively common, the only difference lie in their intensity. The drama shows the extreme side of this aspect that many women can connect to. It is about an issue of being accepted for who and how you are in your own right than what others want you to be. The relationships between Farida and Khirad in the drama are like this.

2. Seeing favorite characters from the novel on screen

Secondly, people are interested to see their favorite characters come to life on screen. All the cast-members have done a remarkable job in holding up the fans’ expectations in terms how each character should appear like. The script has been written brilliantly by Zakir Ahmed who is the screenplay writer for this drama. Though the drama Humsafar is different than the actual novel by Farhat Ishtiyaq, but then again it has to be shown on television and hence has to fit the format.

3. Complex relationships between the characters

Thirdly, the relationship that has been shown between Khirad and Ashar and between these two for their daughter Hareem is immensely deep. Their relationship gets complicated due to untoward circumstances in their lives. But this is not the only angles that the story holds. The other characters like that of Sarah and Khizar tell us what negative love or lust can do not only to a person carrying such dark emotions, but also to others whose lives could get ruined coming under their wave.

4. Unacceptability and preconceived notions amidst the characters for each other

Another angle to the story is of unacceptability for each other due to certain preconceived notions which are hard to shed away for someone who is unwilling to be open-minded. This holds true especially for Farida who never accepted her daughter-in-law since the beginning because she was totally against her being married to Ashar. Same goes for Sarah who is not willing to let go of her love for Ashar whom she likes since her own childhood and always thought about marrying him. Due to Farida’s and Sarah’s image of Khirad being an ignorant, ill-mannered, poor girl from a low background is what stand between them and her to cover the distance of getting to understand her a new. Despite the fact that Khirad is the daughter of Ashar’s father’s sister, which makes her the first-cousin of Ashar. Between the class differences are strongly depicted.

5. A brilliant direction and acting

Lastly, the drama has gotten more people attracted due to brilliant direction and dedicated acting efforts from everyone. Most people who have not read the novel are now into it and those who have already read it and re-reading it. Not only the novel is getting more popular than it already was, but the drama itself is getting much positive reviews from the critics too. Television viewers are happy to see thequality drama and it has swept a wave across the nation of entertainment aficionados.
