It’s Karan Johar versus Priyanka Chopra!
A simmering spat between actress Priyanka Chopra and a clique of powerful star wives has now spilled out in the open with filmmaker Karan Johar taking up the cudgels on behalf of the star wives.
A tabloid report that came out two days back has put a spark to the tinderbox.
To give you a recap, it has long been alleged that two star wives have been using their clout in the industry to plant negative stories about Priyanka Chopra in the media. Though no names were ever revealed, it was all but clear that the star wives being mentioned were Gauri Khan and Sussanne Roshan.
The differences between the Gauri-Sussanne duo on one hand and Priyanka on the other cropped up after a raft of stories on Shahrukh Khan’s closeness to Priyanka started doing the rounds. Thereafter, Priyanka was given the royal snub by the two star wives on many occasions, but a media report earlier this week has brought this simmering war out in the open.
In the report, a friend of Priyanka Chopra was quoted as saying: “If these women (allegedly Gauri and Sussanne) are insecure about their relationships with their husbands, they should sort it out with them, at home. Why target Priyanka?” The friend even took on Karan Johar for being duplicitous, and alleged: “PC is upset and flummoxed by the campaign unleashed by a powerful producer-director who can make and break careers in Bollywood.”
The provocation was enough to have the rarely undiplomatic Karan Johar lose his cool and give it back to Priyanka, and that too on a social networking site.
Refraining from taking any names, Karan seems to have blamed Priyanka Chopra for using her PR machinery to sully the names of Gauri and Sussanne both of who are close to K-Jo.
This is what Karan Johar wrote on twitter: “Using their hired PR machinery and hiding behind so called "friends" to get news into tabloids is nothing but spineless and lame!!! Some people need to wake up and smell the KOFFEE!!! Get a reality check before its too late!!! Grow up!!! and dont mess with goodness....”
Thereafter, Karan Johar has refused to confirm or deny if his jab was aimed at Priyanka Chopra. The actress’s spokesperson too has refused to comment on the matter.
It can be recalled that Priyanka Chopra and Karan Johar once used to be on good terms, especially during the making of Johar’s production Dostana, in which Priyanka played the female lead. But the two now seems to have had a falling-out!
If not with Amitabh Bachchan, Veena Malik won’t marry!
The latest piece of news from the controversial Pakistani actress Veena Malik seems like a snippet straight out of The Land of Absurdity. The actress who forayed into, and soon became a household name in the country with her stint in reality TV show ‘Bigg Boss’, has now voiced her elaborate wishes regarding her marriage.
When Veena Malik was asked about her opinion on the cult blockbuster ‘Sholay’, the actress did a great job of articulating her feelings for Amitabh Bachchan. Bachchan, whose performance as Jai in the movie is now an act revered and worshipped by actors in Bollywood and beyond, has no inkling about Malik’s emotions. Veena was heard saying: “I would love to work with the legend Amitabh Bachchan. In fact he is my idol. I have grown watching his films and will marry someone like him only.”
Also, according to the controversy queen, a ‘great female oriented film’ is in store for her sometime soon. And along with her, ace Bollywood legend Dharmendra – aka Veeru of ‘Sholay’ – will be seen in the movie. The film has tentatively been named ‘Rajni Ki Lag Gayi’, and has already set many tongues rolling as to whether our Rajinikanth too is a part of the film or not!
Veena Malik and spice are intertwined with each other. And this time around, she hasn’t spared even Big B. If Veena has her way, she would want Amitabh Bachchan to be among her suitors on her televised ‘Swayamvar’. And in case she isn’t able to turn her wish into the truth, we hope Malik finds her dream Bachchan soon!

Hardworking Rakhi Sawant wins praise from Sohail Khan!
Rakhi Sawant has found a fan in actor-filmmaker Sohail Khan, who admires the item girl for her hard work and talent.
Rakhi Sawant appeared on the special episode of "Kahani Comedy Circus Kii" and Sohail couldn't stop heaping praises at her and appreciated her for what she is today, said a statement.
"Everyone hates Rakhi or says bad things about her because they are jealous of her. You are what you are today all because of your hard work and determination," Sohail Khan told Rakhi on the show.
Rakhi Sawant also thanked him for his words of appreciation.
Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson have a registered marriage!
The two inseparables Prateik Babbar and Amy Jackson have secretly tied the knot; the couple has even registered their marriage, reveal sources.
Surprised to read this! Well, a tabloid reports that Amy Jackson and Prateik Babbar, who recently started dating each other, are finally married. Apparently, a registrar visited Prateik’s residence, where their marriage was registered.
“On Saturday, I got the news of Prateik and Amy having got married the previous day. Upon inquiring, I was told that the registrar had gone to the apartment on Carter Road, where he resides, to register their wedding,” tells a source to a daily.
It can be recalled that a few days back when Prateik was talking to the media at an award function, he jokingly said that Amy and he are in fact married. The two even showed off the love tattoos inked on their arms.
Earlier there were reports that the couple has started living in at Amy’s flat, but then Amy clarified that since she is new to Mumbai, Prateik was just trying to help her out with the shifting. There is no doubt that Amy Jackson and Prateik Babbar are dating, their PR even informed the same to the tabloid, but mentioned that they are not married.
So, for the time being, only Amy Jackson and Prateik Babbar are privy to their secret. Couples living-in together isn’t new to Bollywood, nor are the hush-hush weddings that become known much later.

| Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is thrilled with the story line of Kahaani and says that the film's leading lady Vidya Balan is a true successor of superstar Aamir Khan when it comes to choice of scripts. "'Kahaani' is how a thriller should be shot...the ending is debatable but what an effort," the 39-year-old tweeted. "Vidya is slowly emerging to be a true successor of Aamir (Khan)... a great career is defined by choices one makes and courage to see it through," Kashyap added. Produced and directed by Sujoy Ghosh, this Vidya Balan's another woman-centric film after Ishqiya, No One Killed Jessica and The Dirty Picture. Is Kareena Kapoor really pregnant?
Kareena Kapoor is pregnant for reel. Read that again! The baby bump which has caught everyone’s attention is only for reel.
All those who have been speculating about Kareena having a bun in the oven and casting suspicious glances at Saif Ali Khan have apparently been making a mountain out of a molehill. The baby bump, which has been spotted on Kareena Kapoor on more occasions than one, is FAKE. It’s for her role in the film Heroine.

The rumours had been going for more than a month now, but a recent picture posted by director Madhur Bhandarkar on his Twitter page had Kareena with a clear baby bump, rekindling the rumour that the actress is in the family way. But the bubble of excitement was pinpricked by Bhandarkar himself who clarified: “Guys let's not speculate. It's for REEL & not real!!! It's for a scene in my film #Heroine. Its FAKE!!!”
So pipe down, all you jumping jacks! Kareena Kapoor is not pregnant, but that does pop a question in our khurapati mind. If Madhur Bhandarkar’sHeroine needed to have its leading lady pregnant, then why did he shelve the film with Aishwarya Rai. At least, that baby bump was for real.

KAREENA SPARKS PREGNANCY RUMOURS
After seeing these set of images of the soon-to-be Begum Pataudi any one could have said that she is trying to cover her belly, and possibly baby bump. Seen at the airport avoiding media glares and wearing a loose tee that too with a broad stole which seemed to be serving the purpose of hiding her tummy,Kareena Kapoor recently sparked pregnancy rumours.Is she really pregnant or just eating well? Kareena herself agrees that she likes curves and so does her man Saif Ali Khan. In her recent appearances to promote Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu and also at various awards function, one can’t deny that she indeed looked fuller and rounded.
We admired her size-zero frame, and we also like her now as a curvaceous Kareena Kapoor. But what’s with her deliberate attempt to cover up her stomach with one hand over it on several occasions? (See the images on the following pages).
However, the insiders have denied that Bebo has a bun in the oven. While speaking to a daily, a source said that the actress isn’t pregnant. “It’s strange how there has been so much frenzy with just a solitary picture floating around. There is no truth to the so-called news and for Kareena it is business as usual.”
Kareena is busy promoting Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, and she will resume shooting for Heroine on February 20. The source, however, claimed that if she was carrying a baby, she wouldn’t have been in any position to shoot for the film.

Superstars have always been tightlipped about their acting fee, but it takes no Philip Kotler to figure out that Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan have the best paydays in Bollywood, apart from Aamir Khan, who is in a different league altogether. Anyway, coming back to the two feuding Khans, we hear that Salman Khan had demanded from producer Aditya Chopra a remuneration that is just one rupee more than what Shahrukh Khan is said to be getting for the Yash Chopra film with Katrina Kaif.
This is Salman Khan’s way to ensure that he gets better paid than his rival, even if the difference is of mere one rupee. And since Salman Khan is a major draw at the box office and his last two releases Ready and Bodyguardfared better than Shahrukh Khan’s Ra.One and Don 2, the dominance in remuneration is somewhat justified.
Salman Khan is presently working in the Yash Raj Films’ venture Ek Tha Tigerwith Katrina Kaif. Shahrukh Khan, on the other hand, is shooting for the yet untitled film being directed by Yash Chopra in London.

Akshay Kumar to be dad again?
If rumours are to be believed, Akshay Kumar is soon going to be a father again. The news started floating on microblogging site Twitter today. "Akshay Kumar to be dad again!", tweeted Sp4zee. The rumour took shape when Akshay Kumar's wife and former actor Twinkle Khanna was spotted with a baby bump at an event in Mumbai. Zoom TV also tweeted, "Akshay Kumar & Twinkle Khanna are expecting their second child."
However, there has been no confirmation from the couple on this matter.
Akshay and Twinkle are parents to nine-year-old son Aarav.
John Abraham detained, out on bail in accident case
Bollywood actor John Abraham, who was detained Friday after a court rejected an appeal against his conviction for injuring two people while riding a motorcycle in 2006, is out on bail.
The Bombay High Court granted the bail to John Abraham and stayed the 15 days jail term awarded earlier by the Sessions Court, which upheld an earlier verdict pronounced by a Bandra magistrate.
After Abraham's lawyers moved the high court post-haste, justice R.C. Chavan granted bail of Rs.20,000 to the actor and also stayed the operation of the lower court sentence till the pendency of the matter.
Police detained Abraham immediately after the sessions court rejected his plea against the 15-day simple imprisonment and fine of Rs.15,000 awarded to him by a magistrate's court in 2010. He was initially taken for a medical examination.
The sessions court also rejected John Abraham's plea for four days' time to surrender.
It was not immediately clear whether the prosecution would seek enhanced punishment for John Abraham.
Bandra additional chief metropolitan magistrate S.V. Kulkarni had convicted Abraham in 2010 for injuring two youths - Tanmay Majhi (19) and Shyam Kasbe (22) when his motorcycle collided with their bicycle in Khar in northwest Mumbai in April 2006.
The actor had rushed the two victims to a hospital.
The 39-year-old model-turned-actor is currently promoting his first production venture Vicky Donor, a film about sperm donors.
He is known for his role in films like Jism, Water, Dostana and Force.

| Madhuri Dixit, one of the most mesmerising beauties of Hindi cinema and the muse of the late painter M F Hussain, has now been honoured with a wax statue at Madame Tussauds Museum in London. The Bollywood diva with a smile to warm the cockles of anyone’s heart unveiled her wax statue in London on Wednesday. She was accompanied by her husband Ram Nene and two sons. "I am thrilled to be here in Madame Tussauds unveiling a wax figure of myself. It's incredible just how detailed the figure is - they have captured my look beautifully! I feel very humbled to be included alongside other Bollywood stars and some of my personal heroes," Madhuri said in a statement on the museum's official website. The museum already houses the statues of Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan. The wax statue of Madhuri Dixit took about four months to make at a cost of 150, 000 pounds. It dons a pink sari donated by the actress herself. Salman Khan's pain returns, post surgery!
Salman Khan who underwent a surgery for nerve disorder trigeminal neuralgia recently is experiencing pain in his jaw again. The pain returned while shooting for Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger in Cuba, reports Mumbai Mirror.
“Salman is feeling a knot in his jaw,” a source from the film unit confirmed to the tabloid.
“Salman is on medication for the same. But he doesn’t worry about it much. People suffer from all kinds of conditions - blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol. This too is a physical condition. This doesn’t mean that it will deter Salman from living his life to the fullest," Salman's friend shared with the tabloid.

For nearly four years, Salman Khan kept his nerve disorder close to his chest and continued to work even though at times he felt an 'electric shock' in a part of his forehead. Salman said he underwent an eight-hour-long surgery for the nerve disorder, Trigeminal Neuralgia on August 31 in the US, though he was initially told it would be only a 30-minute operation.

We will sort it out like men: Saif Ali Khan
Actor Saif Ali Khan, who was involved in a much-publicised brawl with businessman Iqbal Meer Sharma recently, says he wants to avoid going to court to sort the issue. “There has been too much noise about it, so we will sort it out between ourselves like men.” The 41-year-old actor also hopes his forthcoming film, Agent Vinod, is “not adversely affected by the incident”. “It’s going to be terribly unfair to everybody who has worked on it. I think people don’t watch films out of love for actors only, they watch movies out of love for movies," says Khan.
While Sharma has gone back to South Africa to attend to his business, he says he doesn’t want to comment on Saif’s statements. Sharma’s wife, actor Tarina Patel, too says, “My husband doesn’t want to respond to everything Saif has to say. The episode has been very hard for him.” Sharma’s friend, who wishes not to be named, says that Sharma will not agree to an out-of-court settlement. “He will only take the legal recourse.”
Saif says he was touched by fellow actor Salman Khan’s public support for him after the incident. “Salman made my darkest hours easier to deal with and it’s really kind of him,” he says.
Meanwhile, Saif wants to keep the focus on Agent Vinod. He says that he does not plan to go for an over-hyped publicity for his film. “Americans don’t go ballistic like us when they promote their films. All they do is to announce their film, do a fair amount of promotion and that’s it. I think sometimes we go overboard,” he says. Actor-couple Saif and Kareena Kapoor, who star in the movie, will be doing joint promotions only in the last week before the film’s release.
Iqbal’s wife lashes out at Kareena Kapoor
Iqbal Sharma’s wife, actor Tarina Patel, has hit back at Saif Ali Khan’s girlfriend Kareena Kapoor for calling Sharma publicity hungry.
“My husband is not some star-struck foreigner in India. He comes from the biggest political family in South Africa; he is Fatima Meer’s (the late anti-apartheid activist) nephew. Why should he know Saif or Kareena? He knows who Amitabh Bachchan is, or maybe Shah Rukh Khan. Beyond that, my husband or the rest of my family don’t know (anyone) from the industry, and nor do they care,” she said in an interview to Mumbai Mirror. Kareena had earlier said that Saif was provoked by Sharma. ‘I am sorry about Bebo’s stress level caused by our objection to their volume level,” she added.

Kareena Kapoor to turn director?
Kareena Kapoor apparently impressed director Karan Johar with her interest in scripting and editing while shooting for Ek Main Aur Ekk. The filmmaker is reportedly considering the actor for full-time direction. KJo might give a project to Kareena after her marriage to Saif Ali Khan, reports Mid Day.
A source from the production house told the tabloid, "Kareena and Karan are like soul siblings. She discusses a lot of ideas with him. And she also got to be a part of the behind-the-scenes team in EMAET. It was during the shooting that Karan realised how great an aptitude Bebo has for cinema. In fact, she gave very crucial tips for revising and improving the script too."
"Karan has asked her to get on board as a formal assistant and then eventually direct a film," the source added.
Shakun Batra, the director of EMAET confirmed to the tabloid, "There were at least five scenes where Kareena felt her character Rihanna was similar to Geet in Jab We Met. She marked those in the script and suggested how we could change them. Throughout the film's making, Kareena was full of sensible, intelligent suggestions."
